Where there is no movement, there is pain
Where there is movement, there is no pain
Traditional Chinese Saying
Zen Shiatsu is not only a deeply relaxing experience but also a truly holistic therapy, working on the individual as a complete being: both on the physical structure and the energetic system are stimulated to promote
natural healing, harmony and balance.
Through a combination of kneading, pressing, tapping and stretching techniques, Zen Shiatsu works on restoring the natural cycle of energy, helping with specific physical conditions, promoting emotional regulation and stress reduction.
As the energy increases and becomes more harmonious, the symptoms associated with a lack of flow will gradually give way to a sense of wellbeing.
What CAN YOU EXPECT?
On your first visit, we will take 15 to 20 min to connect.
I will ask you some general questions about your physical and emotional health, lifestyle, sleep patterns and diet. We may spend some time discussing any goals or specific issues you would like to address in the session
You will then lay down on a futon (traditional Japanese mattress) on the floor and receive a “Hara” (energetic center of the body) reading. Using the soft tips of my fingers, I will gently press the various sections of your abdomen getting a sense of that various organ energies and defining how to structure the treatment.
The treatment is given through clothing, using a combination of kneading, pressing, tapping and stretching techniques. These gentle techniques aim to restore the energy flow in the meridians, which naturally dissolves blockages.
The effect may be stimulating and invigorating or calming and sedative, depending on your current condition and the goal of the session.

FAQ
-
Please, come wearing or bring soft, loose-fitting clothing.
Full-length pants such as sweatpants, yoga pants, or even pajama pants are ideal. Jeans and similar pants do not work well for shiatsu because they restrict range of motion and have zippers, buttons and snaps that can be uncomfortable while lying on your stomach.
For a shirt, t-shirts long sleeve work well.
I recommend to bring an extra layer, as the body temperature can drop while lying down. -
